2023 Senior Scholarship Winners Announced

MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – Two Class of 2023 student-athletes were named scholarship award winners by the Merritt Island High School Soccer Booster Club.  The scholarship application process is open to all academically eligible senior-class boys and girls soccer players attending Merritt Island High School.  The winners are chosen by the booster club’s board members and announced at the soccer program’s annual awards banquet.

The scholarship requires active participation as a community volunteer or participation in community activities and a personal letter of recommendation from a coach, employer, or teacher.  Additionally, the student-athletes are required to submit a personalized essay explaining how soccer has influenced their life.  

This year’s winners are Hailey Jones and Noah Shockley.

Merritt Island High School is an accredited public high school in Brevard County, Florida.  The school offers classes for grades 9-12, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and courses with the Dual Enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College.  There are also a variety of academies available for students to enroll in, including the Advanced Placement Academy, Fame Academy for the performing arts and multi-media entertainment, and Davinci.
