MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – Kyleigh Trout enters her senior season ranked 7th on Merritt Island’s Girls Varsity ALL-TIME ASSISTS leader board.
A Class of 2022 standout, Trout is a four-year varsity lettermen and team captain. Known for her strength and accuracy, Kyleigh leads the Mustangs midfield and has earned many of her assists from set plays.
Just 25 assists from the top spot, Trout joins the ranks amongst some of Merritt Island greats. Jean Zabin is ranked sixth and has held a top-10 ranking since graduating in 1992. Other notable Mustangs include fourth ranked Julia Martin (2018) who went on to play for University of North Florida, third ranked Lexy Denaburg (2019) who’s one of Merritt Island’s most decorated athletes, and Amanda Wilkin (2012) who holds the top spot with 55 assists.
Varsity Pre-Season opens November 1, 2021 and the girls kick-off their 2021-2022 campaign November 8th vs Vero Beach.

Merritt Island High School is an accredited public high school in Brevard County, Florida. The school offers classes for grades 9-12, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and courses with the Dual Enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College. There is also a variety of academies available for students to enroll in. Including the Advance Placement academy, Fame academy for the performing arts, and Davinci.
