MULBERRY, Florida – Two Mustangs girls soccer players will suit up one last time to represent Merritt Island High School. Senior Captains, Zara Anderson and Payton Gibney will play in the 2023 All-Star Classic.
The Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) is hosting its annual All-Star Classic, a tournament-style weekend showcasing Florida’s top high school soccer players.
Anderson and Gibney were named to Team East, one of just four honorary teams in the state. Selected players must receive enough votes within their FACA district and region to be named to the final regional roster and receive an invitation to the All-Star event.
The annual competition matches top high school seniors from Florida’s North, South, East, and West regions. Players from the four regions will come together for this weekend’s All-Star Classic to celebrate their high school soccer careers and compete in the exhibition tournament. Each team plays two games.
This year’s FACA ALL-STAR SOCCER CLASSIC event is being hosted by Polk Sports Marketing & Polk County Schools and will be held March 10-11, 2023 at Mulberry High School in Polk County, Florida.
