MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – Merritt Island High School’s Girls Varsity soccer team earns three spots on Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s prestigious 2023 All-State Team.
Senior Captain, Payton Gibney received All-State honors along with juniors, Hannah Kenney and Julianna Trujillo. The trio were defensive standouts in the Mustangs’ 2023 campaign.
Merritt Island’s Head Coach, Nathan Trout said, “We’re grateful to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association for recognizing our student-athletes and we congratulate Payton, Hannah, and Julianna for receiving this honor.”
The Mustangs’ 2023 season included 14 wins, five losses, and post-season games in FHSAA’s regional playoffs.
