2022 Senior Scholarship Winners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | March 29, 2022

MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – In keeping with its annual tradition, the Merritt Island High School Soccer Booster Club recognized two senior student-athletes as this year’s scholarship recipients.  The scholarship award is open to all academically eligible boys and girls senior soccer players.  The winners are chosen by the booster club board members and announced at the program’s awards banquet.

The senior scholarship standards require active participation in local volunteering and/or community activities as well as a personal letter of recommendation from a coach, employer, or teacher.  Additionally, the student-athletes are required to submit a personalized essay explaining how soccer has influenced their life.

This year’s winners are Seamus Feeney and Kyleigh Trout.

Feeney has committed to playing collegiate soccer with Flagler College, a private 4-year liberal arts college in St. Augustine, Florida, and will major in Finance/International Business.

Trout plans to attend the University of Florida, majoring in Finance.
