MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – Merritt Island High School’s Girls Varsity soccer team sends four standouts to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s 2022 All-State Team.
Senior Captains: Dani Grenon, Brooklyn McDuffie, and Kyleigh Trout all received All-State honors along with junior, Zara Anderson. Trout led the Mustangs in assists and Anderson led the team in goals scored.
Merritt Island head coach Nathan Trout said, “The Florida Athletic Coaches Association holds high standards for All-State selections and we’re honored to have our players named. We appreciate everything FACA does to recognize student-athletes.”
The Mustangs’ 2022 season included 15 wins, three losses, and two draws. In addition, the girls clinched the program’s 15th District Championship, which advanced them into regional playoffs.

Merritt Island High School is an accredited public high school in Brevard County, Florida. The school offers classes for grades 9-12, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and courses with the Dual Enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College. There are also a variety of academies available for students to enroll in, including the Advance Placement academy, Fame Academy for the performing arts and multi-media entertainment, and Davinci.
