MERRITT ISLAND, Florida – Merritt Island High School boys soccer crowned Brevard County’s 2022 Cape Coast Conference Champions.
Merritt Island boys took the field January 19, 2022 to face off against Melbourne High School for the conference title. Merritt Island would take the lead after Senior Captain, Grant Paparella buried a penalty kick in the final minutes of the first 40.
Mustangs came out strong in the second half and sealed the conference title delivering a second goal off a Paparella-Denaburg combo set play. Brady Denaburg perfectly timed the header and secured the victory, wrapping up regular season play.
Mustangs have won nine of their last 10 games and head into districts as a top-seed. FHSAA District Playoffs

Merritt Island High School is an accredited public high school in Brevard County, Florida. The school offers classes for grades 9-12, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and courses with the Dual Enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College.
